Martial Arts Background
NEVERQUIT 60 Studio
For Sensei Roger B. Hamilton, martial arts has never been solely about combat. It has always been about the mastery of self—the discipline to show up, the resilience to push through discomfort, and the deep understanding of how the body moves through space.
After decades of training fighters and traditional martial artists, Roger realized that the true power of these disciplines lay not in the ring, but in everyday life. The same principles that make a great martial artist—balance, focus, reaction time, and mental fortitude—are exactly what we need to age with dignity and strength.
"We don't train to fight others. We train to fight the decline. We train to maintain our independence, our confidence, and our place in the world."
The creation of NEVERQUIT 60 was born from a specific observation: the fitness industry largely ignores older adults, or treats them as fragile. Roger saw a profound need for a space that respected the capabilities of adults 60+ and those living with Parkinson's.
He built a studio where leadership is delivered through encouragement, where discipline is paired with deep compassion, and where every member is pushed to realize they are stronger than they think.
Roger's coaching style is rooted in traditional martial arts respect, adapted for the realities of aging and neurological challenges.
All the intensity, focus, and cardiovascular benefits of martial arts, with zero impact. You hit pads, never people.
Every movement can be modified. Roger expertly adjusts drills for bad knees, stiff shoulders, or Parkinson's rigidity.
Whether you've been an athlete your whole life or haven't exercised in decades, Roger meets you exactly where you are.
The studio is a place of support, celebrating effort, consistency, & the courage to step onto the mat.
When you train with Sensei Roger, you aren't just getting a workout. You are joining a lineage of discipline, adapted for the most important fight of your life: the fight for your health and independence.
